Haha, I've spent approx. an hour writing this. I'm very easily distracted, I think.
Guh. I've just found out something about myself that me-x-years-back-in-time would've spat at: I think my musical taste really is more rock -> the easier stuff, as opposed to rock -> the heavier stuff. My reasoning for this particular statement is this video, Adrienne by The Calling (you may remeber their song Wherever You Will Go, made a bigtime hit. Much like Iris, methinks).
Anyway. It's just such a nostalgic song for me. I used to listen to it all the time back in 9th grade, I think, and damn. I love it.
You know, there's nothing wrong with liking powepop. I've just come to that realization some months ago, and I am proud. I like fucking everything I want, and people can think what they want.
For example: I was at a KSS (Kattas Sorte Sirkel; The Cat's Black Circle) get-together yesterday. KSS is basically what used to be the rock music fan-club of Katta (this is the abbreviation for my school, you guys), but it has since become the metal club since the leaders are more into metal. I met one of those guys at the Hove festival back in June, and I really liked him. He's an awesome guy, so I thought I'd go to those meetings. Lo and behold, his co-leader is sorta hot and funny. I join club. I have a good time. BUT I get mocked for my music tastes. Don't think they mean it in a mean way, though.
But really, I didn't get to where I am today by compromising, and I am not about to start doing it either. They can go listen to their gut-dripping, silly Cannibal Corpse and I can sit here and enjoy someone who can actually sing.
No intentional personal bashing if anyone who reads this so happens to like them, just saying that I don't. Also, if you really want to check out how much they suck/rule:
for the faint hearted
for the not so faint hearted
And oooh, Emilie Autumn is coming to Norway! :D She's this awesome lady with an awesome singing voice and electric violin. Yus, she's awesome. It's 90% certain that I'm going to see her in this itty bitty place, yay! I love small concerts. I'm also having total concert abstinences, I haven't been to one in two months.
I think I'm gonna go sleep now. Tomorrow is the last day of school before my autumn vacation. It's sort of sad, because I love to be in class, but at the same time it's really great cause I need some rest and to catch up with maths.
I just realized I'm totally careless. America's in this huge financial crisis, and I'm here writing about how much I love to spend my money.
I can deal with guilt tomorrow.
Night!
