The Movie Post
Meme from [info]agguss, if, by any chance, you want to know me better.
Ask me a question about each of the following:

1. Friends
2. Sex
3. Music
4. Drugs
5. Love
6. LiveJournal
7. Relationships

Anyway. I got home from Iceland two oops looks like it's three now days ago. We swam a lot, did some tourist things for Irene to see, shopped a whole lot and just moped about at home. It was nice, but a lot like it always is. Places get less exotic when you go there a lot, y'know? I'll try and get some pictures up soon.

I went and saw The Dark Knight with [info]bokhylle (and [info]android_queen was there too, albeit a couple of rows 13 in front of us).

Daaaaaa-yuuumn.

So, Heath Ledger should definitely get that rumored Oscar, cause. Damn. He is such a great actor. I don't base this purely on his performance as the Joker, either. I remember seeing A Knight's Tale several times when I was younger, and I loved it sooo much.
Also, in the spirit of Heathing, me and [info]bokhylle, since she was sleeping over at my house, saw 10 Things I Hate About You. I must say, my preferred genre of movies is definitely not chick-flicks, but I liked it. A lot. Heath was dreamy in it, it should've been called "How To Be the Perfect Boyfriend" or something instead.
*insert pink confetti and glitter*

Points of adoration:
- Heath, obviously. I was more obsessed with Heath as the Joker than Heath himself, though.
- The music. Oh gods, that's why I listen to Hans Zimmer.
- Gary Oldman. I've never really been a huge fan of his, but he did an amazing job as Gordon the police commissioner.
- The scene where the Joker gives his offer of killing Batman to the mafia. OMG HAHAHA!
- The overall intensity of the movie.

Points of WTF IS DIS SHIT:
- Bruce's voice when he was Batman. I mean, what? I understand why he would do it, but it made him sound like a total idiot. And he looked like he had an underbite.
- Maggie Gyllenhaal. Her brother may be hot, but I do not like her. There's just something about her face that annoys me (in the same way that Zooey Deschanel annoys me).
- .. and that's it, really. That is how great the movie was.

Speaking of rather great and brilliant movies; I saw Hellboy II: The Golden Army at a whim when we were in the downtown area in Kopavogur. I went in with no expectations whatsoever, and I ended up loving the movie completely. It's so funny (Hellboy has the best witty comments ever) and yet very action filled and .. deep, somehow. It's hard to find good fantasy/science fiction movies that have some depth too, y'know. I bought the first movie today, and I'm really excited about seeing it.

Oh, and I'm making my sister watch The Rocky Horror Picture Show with me tormorrow, because it's such a weird and awesome movie.

1. Friends - ?
2. Sex - orientation?
3. Music - stealing from your question, what type of music (or artist or band) do you really dislike?
4. Drugs - have you done any?
5. Love - This will sound extremely cheesy, but do you believe in love?
6. LiveJournal - why did you creat a livejournal in the first place?
7. Relationships - ?

GARY OLDMAN!

2. I've been hetero this far in my life, but starting to wonder if I might be bisexual.
3. I absolutely do not like any really heavy metal things, like doom metal and gore metal and that stuff. I also don't like Gallows, which is a terrible terrible punk band that has been hyped up like a zeppelin over the last couple of years. Oh, and the new wave screamocore thing. Ewwww.
4. I haven't.
5. I do believe in love, yes. I haven't had the chance to experience true romantic love, but I certainly think that love, as a feeling of affection towards others, exist.
6. Umm. I think I was influenced by House-Pride, actually. A lot of people had an LJ, and I thought; "why not?" And I think [info]bokhylle sort of pushed me into it, too.

GARY "GORDON" OLDMAN.

#2 made me chuckle, because I've been thinking the same lately. I also agree with your answr to #3 :) I don't know Gallows, but I know I don't like extremely heavy metal at all. And last, I also went into livejournal because of H-P heh.

I went to LJ partially because you were here, and all those other people who I admire/admired :D

Welcome back. ^^ Mmm, meme... let's see.

1) How long have you known your best friend?
2) At which age did your parents first talk to you about sex(uality)?
3) How'd you first get into the Goo Goo Dolls?
4) Have you ever taken any (legal or non-legal)? Would you (again, either kind)?
5) What's love?
6) How/why'd you get on LJ?
7) What do you think is most important in a relationship?

Thank you :]

1. I've known her for a grand total of ten years, actually.
2. I honestly cannot remember. We don't really have that kind of talks, we're pretty open about more or less everything.
3. Ahahaaaw, I love that question! I watched Disney's Treasure Planet in cinemas, and although I saw it in Norwegian, I loved a song that was in there. It sort of slipped my mind a bit after that, but I always had it in my mind, so I started searching for it a couple of years later on the internet. It was a hard battle, but I found out that John sung it. I eventually found it and downloaded it, and I loved it so much that I started searching for him on the 'net. He had a band. That was the start of my obsession.
4. I haven't, no. I don't want to get into heavy stuff at all (or light, for that matter), but I'm not ruling out the possibility of trying something relatively harmless in the future.
5. Love is .. a feeling of being attatched to someone or something emotionally. Easy to confuse with hate.
6. I was on a Harry Potter forum where a lot of people had LJs, and I thought "why not?".
7. Balance. I think that mutual affection is important. If partner 1 cares more about partner 2 than partner 2 cares about partner 1 it's sort of doomed to crash. Number 2 will think that number 1 is possessive and number 1 won't feel like nr 2 loves him/her etc.

2. Ah, that's cool. :) My parents used to be quite open when my sister and I were younger - I distinctly recall them going through a rather well-made Swedish book on sexuality etc. when we in the, I don't know, 7-8 year range or so (probably), but curiously enough, they got more uptight later on, and later on, "that talk", for me, consisted in its entirety of the following, in the car on the way to a grocery store:

My mother: You know about "these things", don't you?
Me: yes.

3. Heh, I thought you'd like it. ^^ I usually just ask things like "what's your favourite band" here when I can't think of anything else, but I was pretty sure I already know which one that is, so.. ;)

7. Mmm, good answer. :)
Sasha: Amanda: (:[info]lionhill on August 10th, 2008 09:37 pm (UTC)
Haha, that's a great way of doing it, though. I don't really think a lot of kids want to have that conversation with their parents.

Liked it? I loved it! :D And haha, how could you not know?
Schneelocke[info]schnee on August 10th, 2008 09:53 pm (UTC)
Yeah, I imagine most people wouldn't really be keen on talking about sex and sexuality to their parents. Myself, I probably would've been less averse if it had been my father, but even then... well, sexuality was something that was never mentioned or discussed, so I just didn't have a chance to get comfortable talking to my parents about these things, and from what I guess, my mother was quite relieved to not actually have to talk to me about it, too (and she may well have chosen that particular moment deliberately - even if I had said anything else, we would've only had, oh, about two minutes or so before we arrived at the store).

Heh, but yeah, I guess it really is quite obvious to anyone reading your journal. ^^
